MARIETTA, Ga. – The Life University women's basketball team celebrated Senior Day by winning winning their straight SSAC contest with a win over Abraham Baldwin on Saturday afternoon. The Running Eagles used a strong second-half push to pull away late for the 62-55 victory.
Both teams battled evenly in the opening quarter, with Life U holding a narrow four-point lead. The defensive intensity increased in the second, as the Running Eagles limited Abraham Baldwin to just 11 points. Despite struggles from the free-throw line, Life U held a 25-20 advantage at halftime.
Dianis Hurtado sparked the offense in the third quarter, draining two three-pointers to help build momentum. Aniyah Offutt also made her presence felt, finishing the period with six points as Life U put up 18 in the frame. The Running Eagles' defense remained disruptive, forcing 24 turnovers to maintain control of the game.
Life U shot efficiently down the stretch, closing out the game with a 19-point fourth quarter. Offutt led the team with 16 points, while Kenya Robinson added 10 points and nine rebounds. Brionna Sims provided a solid boost off the bench with eight points.
Prior to the contest, Dianis Hurtado, Sara Viti, Brianna Sims, Tajma Krslak and Sienna Bailey were recognized for this year's Senior Day.
