THOMASVILLE, Ga. -- The Life University flag football team dropped its 2025 season opener to the Night Hawks of Thomas this past Saturday. The home-standing Night Hawks rallied behind a 26-point second quarter to hand Life U the 47-6 loss.
The first quarter remained highly competitive, with the Running Eagles surrendering the lone touchdown and trailing 7-0 headed into the second.
Things turned south for the Running Eagles in the second quarter. Thomas exploded for 26 points, burying Life U behind a 33-6 score line at half time. Altierra Gooch caught the lone touchdown for the Running Eagles on a four-yard completion from quarterback Cheyenne Brooks.
The Night Hawks went on to hold Life U scoreless in the second half, remaining firmly in control until the final whistle.
Up next, the Running Eagles travel to Lake Wales, Fla. to face Warner University on Friday, February 21.
