MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Life University men's basketball team picked up a win over the Eagles of Faulkner late Thursday night behind a 18-point second half from Elias Ramirez. The Running Eagles produced a strong second half performance as a unit as well after heading to the break tied 40-40.

The home-standing Eagles opened the game hot, going on a 20-9 run in the first seven minutes to claim an 11-point lead. Chaze Harris and Matija Gledic responded shortly after with buckets, but Faulkner continued to hold the Running Eagles at arm's length.

The Eagles once again pushed the lead back to 11 with 6:51 left in the first before the Life U defense found its rhythm. Stringing together six straight defensive stops, the offense slowly worked the deficit to just two points with 2:44 remaining. After a hard fought end to the half, the teams headed to the break tied at 40-40.

Out of the half, the Life U offense turned up the heat with five different scores getting on the board. A pair of three pointers from Gledic and a dunk from Dara Olonade put the Running Eagles up by seven with 14:35 to play.

Gledic and company continued to rain down from three as Life U went on to never trail again in the contest after taking the lead in the second. As a unit, the Running Eagles shot 53.3% from three in the second half while shooting 58.1% from the floor. The team closed out the show with a final score of 94-86.

Elias Ramirez was at the forefront of the Life U assault, leading the squad with 21 points while going 6-11 from beyond the arch. 18 of his 21 points came in the second half. Harris posted another double-double (19 points, 10 assists) while Cortez Johnson, Srdjan Popovich and Gledic all reached double figures in points scored.

Up next, the Running Eagles cap off a five-game road trip, taking on Point University on Saturday, February 8.
