NEED TO KNOW:

Match 1 Score: Brescia 3, Life U 2
Match 2 Score: Life U 3, Morehouse 0

MARIETTA, Ga. – The Life U men's volleyball team went 1-1 on the day, battling through a five-set match against Brescia before bouncing back with a sweep over Morehouse in the evening. The Running Eagles controlled stretches of both matches but were unable to close out the Bearcats in the opening contest.

Match 1: Brescia 3, Life U 2

Life U started the day strong, opening the match with a commanding 25-17 win in the first set. The Running Eagles were efficient on the attack, hitting .611 as a team. The second set remained close, with both teams trading runs. Tied at 23-23, Brescia capitalized on consecutive Life U errors to even the match with a 25-23 victory.

Set three saw another strong push from the Running Eagles. A late surge behind kills from Jakub Kantorowicz and Jeremy Ferreira helped Life U close out the set 25-21. However, Brescia responded with its most dominant stretch of the match, taking the fourth set 25-18 before jumping out early in the decisive fifth. Life U struggled to recover, and Brescia secured the match with a 15-6 win.

Jakub Kantorowicz led the team with 12 kills while adding four blocks. Jeremy Ferreira posted nine kills while hitting .538, and Carlos Pinto recorded a team-high 34 assists. Alexis Prado anchored the defense with 11 digs as the libero.

Match 2: Life U 3, Morehouse 0

The Running Eagles rebounded in their second match of the day, sweeping Morehouse with set scores of 25-9, 25-22, and 25-21. Life U controlled the first set from start to finish, limiting Morehouse to just nine points behind a dominant .316 hitting percentage.

The second set saw a more competitive battle, with Morehouse staying within striking distance late. However, strong serving from Nefty Vigo and key kills from Aiden Janowski helped Life U secure the 25-22 win.

In the final set, Morehouse continued to push, but Life U maintained its composure. Ferreira's strong presence at the net, combined with solid defense from Alexis Prado, sealed the 25-21 victory and the team's fifth win of the season.

Jeremy Ferreira had a standout performance with eight kills and six service aces. Nefty Vigo led the offense with 30 assists while adding seven digs, and Aiden Janowski finished with eight kills and five digs.
