WEST POINT, Ga. – The Life University women's basketball team snapped its three-game losing streak with a win over the Sky Hawks of Point late Saturday afternoon. Life U rallied behind a strong third quarter performance to hang on late for the 69-59 win.

Both teams traded blows to open the contest, with the Running Eagles jumping out to a five-point lead. The Sky Hawks worked to stay in the contest and eventually came away with a slight edge at the end of the first quarter. Both offenses put up identical numbers from the floor in the first, shooting 38.5% while a pair of made free throws provided the home squad the narrow lead.

Kenya Robinson led the offensive charge in the second quarter, shooting an impressive 6-6 from the floor as the team looked to pull away. However, despite subpar shooting from the floor, Point went a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe in first half to keep the contest within three headed into the break.

Leading 31-28 out of the half, Life U continued to knock down buckets. Aniyah Offutt was electric in the third, posting 14 points behind 6-7 shooting from the floor. The Running Eagles defense also provided crucial momentum as they held the Sky Hawks to just 11 points in the quarter.

Though Life U shot just 1-11 from the floor in the final ten minutes of play, Point remained unable to overcome the deficit and the Running Eagles secured the win.

Robinson led the team with 18 points and nine rebounds while Offutt finished the contest with 17 points. Brionna Sims provided eight points from the bench.

Up next, Life U returns home for its first home contest since January 18 as they welcome Middle Georgia to the Eagles' Nest on Thursday, February 13.
