Men's Track & Field Finishes Fourth at NAIA Indoor National Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Life University men's track and field team earned a fourth place finish at the 2025 NAIA National Championships this past weekend. Highlighted by an astounding performance from Daniel Williams in the 200m, Life U headed home with two National Champions and six All-Americans. 

Late Saturday afternoon, Williams became the 10th fastest man in the world this year in the 200m dash, winning the event in 20.48 seconds. He shattered the previous NAIA record by over .2 seconds and was just .01 seconds off tying the current facility record.


 
Wiaan Martin become the first National Champ for the men early Saturday afternoon, claiming the 400m dash title. In a race that came down to the wire, Martin finished just .08 seconds ahead of second place in dramatic fashion.


 
Khalil Carr turned in a massive performance in the long jump, becoming the first All-American of the weekend on the men's side late Friday night. Despite being seeded last in the event, Carr jumped an impressive 7.29m to place seventh overall. 

Tobiloba Oniyide earned his All-American accolades early Saturday afternoon, placing fourth in the men's 60m dash. He was originally seeded 13th coming into the weekend and turned in two monster performances when he needed it the most.

In the men's 4x400m relay, the team of Alejandro Ramos Veglio, Tillman Jedlitschka, Martin and Williams placed fourth overall, running a 3.11.19. The time was just 1.5 seconds behind the winning team.

Jedlitschka narrowly made the 600m finals, finishing fourth in Heat 1. Darius Barge placed tenth in the men's shot put with a distance of 16.23m, narrowly missing the podium. Marvin Jean-Francois placed 18th in the 200m prelims, finishing third in Heat 2. 

Gray McIntyre, Sean Hewitt, Andre Edwards and Samuel Piquant all DNS/DNF in their individual events.

The Life U program now turns its attention towards the Outdoor Track & Field season with high expectations.
