MARIETTA, Ga. — Today, 28 student-athletes were recognized at the Winter 2025 Life University Commencement.
In a celebration of academic and athletic achievement, 28 Running Eagles from 14 different teams were honored during the graduation ceremony in the Eagles' Nest. Thirteen student-athletes graduated with honors, including the department's first ever single-sport sweep of the Valedictorian and Salutatorian awards.
Men's wrestling's Camron Crump and Joshua Oyeneye claimed the awards, as the athletic department celebrated Crump's accomplishment as its fifth consecutive Undergraduate Valedictorian. This remarkable achievement highlights the consistent success of the athletic department in fostering well-rounded student-athletes. Alongside both undergraduate honors, five Doctors of Chiropractic and five Graduate degrees were also conferred.
Director of Athletics, Jayme Pendergast, spoke on the graduating class, stating, "It's great to see our continued success in the classroom. Camron is our fifth consecutive Valedictorian, and alongside him is Josh, reflecting the strong athletic and academic culture of our men's wrestling program. This group also includes several doctorate and graduate-level students, further showing the department's commitment to both academics and athletics. We're proud of the legacies they're leaving behind and excited to celebrate their accomplishments as they move forward as alumni"
