SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Life University women's lacrosse team fell to the Bees of SCAD early Saturday afternoon by a score of 17-15. The Running Eagles played from behind for the majority of the contest after a big first period run from SCAD.

Kathryn Moody got the scoring going, finding the back of the net just 43 seconds into the contest. The teams traded goals before Alyssa Curto gave Life U an early 3-2 lead with 10:13 left in the first. However, things took a turn for the worse following the goal. The Bees proceeded to go on a six-goal run that carried into the second period.

Trailing 8-3, Moody netted a pair midway through the second period to cut into the lead. Hannah Leon and Curto joined the action, moving the deficit to just one. SCAD netted one final goal in the first half with just seconds remaining to take a 9-7 lead into the break.

The Bees pushed the lead to three directly out of the break, scoring in just 15 seconds. A pair of goals from Leon and a short-handed goal from Moody in the period matched the production from the SCAD offense as Life U still trailed 13-10 with 03:20 to play in the third. Another down goal, this one from Leon, sliced the deficit to two but another last minute score from the Bees pushed the lead back to three.

Goals from Reese Phipps and Jazzlynn Hollerbach cut the lead to two on separate occasions, but that was as close as the Running Eagles would get. SCAD eventually pushed the lead to four late in the contest. Though Ortiz and Moody scored in the final minute of the contest, Life U fell 17-15 in the final game of the regular season.

Despite the loss, Abigale Eash was fantastic in goal, making 20 saves and posting a .667 save percentage.
