MARIETTA, Ga. — Today, a record-breaking 60 Life U Student-Athletes Graduated at the Spring 2025 Commencement. 

Life University Athletics celebrated its largest-ever graduating class of student-athletes during the Spring 2025 Commencement, recognizing an all-time high of 60 Running Eagles representing a record 17 athletic programs.

Over half of the graduating student-athletes — 34 in total — earned honors distinctions, including seven Doctors of Chiropractic and three graduate degrees. Continuing a growing tradition of academic excellence, the department once again swept the university's top undergraduate awards, with Ellis Davis of Men's Rugby being named Valedictorian and Jamilah McBryde of Women's Wrestling being honored as Salutatorian.

Davis becomes the sixth consecutive Life U student-athlete to earn Valedictorian honors and the first in Men's Rugby history. Prior to this milestone, the only other graduation honor for the program belonged to Coach Blake Bradford, who served as Salutatorian of the Class of 2013. McBryde also made history as the first Women's Wrestling student-athlete to earn Salutatorian recognition.

Deputy Athletic Director Alaina Smith Walker praised the graduating class, stating, "I am beyond proud of this graduating class. Most of them began their collegiate careers on the heels of a global pandemic, and the adaptability and resilience that it takes to be successful has been a hallmark of their time here. As our biggest graduating class of student-athletes to date, I know they will not only represent the Life U brand brilliantly – they will elevate it!"

The Class of 2025 has left its' mark both academically and athletically, setting a new bar for what it means to be a Running Eagle.
