Swim Competes in Tri Dual Against Barry, Ave Maria and New College of Florida

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Life University men's and women's swim program traveled to Florida to take on Barry University, Ave Maria University and New College of Florida in tri dual action. On the men's side, Life U picked up a win over New College of Florida, 196-15. On the women's side, the Running Eagles took down Barry (144-86) and New College of Florida (152-61).

Nikita Snoeren, Petra Beky, Carla Rodriguez Jara and Terangimarie Moanaroa kicked off the meet with a second-place finish in the women's 200 yard medley relay (1:54.92). Carl Bonnemark, Xavier Trovesi, Rasmus Petersen and Leo Guleryuz followed on the men's side with a second place finish, swimming a 1:35.51.

Carla Rodriguez Jara earned an NAIA B-Cut in the women's 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:13.60. Her time was just under two seconds away from first place at the meet. The freshman also nearly won the 100 yard butterfly, placing second with a time of 1:00.75. The time is just .04 seconds away from an NAIA B-Cut.

Leo Guleryuz dominated the men's 50 yard free at the meet, winning the event with an NAIA B-Cut time of 21.72. The freshman also notched a third-place finish in the 100 yard free with a time of 48.35.

Petra Beky earned a top three individual finish in the women's 1000 yard free, turning in a time of 11:35.80. The freshman also nearly won the 100 yard backstroke, finishing in second (1:09.62) and won the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:31.55.

Raffaele Urtiola Rojas picked up the first Life U win of the meet in the men's 1000 yard free, racing to a dominant 10:08.88.

Zara Kleinhans claimed a top three finish in the women's 200 yard free with a time of 2:09.21.

Arthur Silva swam a 1:48.62 in the men's 200 yard free, earning a second-place finish.

Nikita Snoeren earned a third-place finish in the women's 100 yard back with a time of 1:06.37.

Tyler Braly and Mate Dort finished second and third in the men's 200 yard butterfly, swimming times of 2:03.95 and 2:04.64.

Kyleigh Shonk picked up a big event win in the women's 100 yard free with a time of 56.92. The junior also raced to a fourth-place finish in the women's 50 yard free (25.89), missing an NAIA B-Cut by just .41 seconds.

In the women's 200 yard IM, Kendall Ashburn placed third with a time of 2:20.29.

Xavier Trovesi picked up a late event with for the Running Eagles, swimming an NAIA B-Cut time of 1:56.34 in the men's 200 yard IM.

Malfrid Seteklev and Megan Cronje joined Rodriguez Jara and Shonk for the women's 400 yard free relay, placing second with a final time of 3:49.85. Guleryuz, Silva, Petersen and Utriola Rojas combined for an event win in the men's 400 yard free relay, turning in a combined time of 3:11.13 to close out the meet.
