MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University women's basketball team dropped an SSAC contest to Tennessee Southern on Saturday afternoon, falling 70–55 at home in the Eagles' Nest.

The opening quarter was a defensive battle, with both teams struggling to find offensive rhythm early. Life U edged ahead 13–10 after the first 10 minutes, holding the Firehawks to just three made field goals in the period.

Tennessee Southern responded in the second quarter, turning the momentum behind improved shooting and defensive pressure. Life U was limited to six points in the frame, while the Firehawks put up 16 to take a 26–19 lead into halftime.

Out of the break, Tennessee Southern continued to build separation, outscoring the Running Eagles 24–19 in the third quarter. Life U battled to stay within striking distance, but the visitors maintained control heading into the final period with a 50–38 advantage.

In the fourth quarter, Life U showed fight, scoring 17 points, but Tennessee Southern matched the effort with 20 of its own to secure the 70–55 conference victory.
