WEST POINT, Ga. — The Life University women's basketball team opened the new year with a convincing road victory Saturday afternoon, defeating Point University 63–45 in Southern States Athletic Conference action. The win moves the Running Eagles to 10-5 on the season and 4-1 in SSAC play.
Point held an early edge, taking a 16–11 lead after the opening quarter, but Life U quickly seized control in the second period. The Running Eagles put together their most productive stretch of the game, outscoring the Skyhawks 24–10 in the quarter to flip the momentum and take a 35–26 advantage into halftime.
Life U carried that momentum into the third quarter, continuing to apply pressure on both ends of the floor. The Running Eagles added 19 points in the period while holding Point to 13, pushing the lead to 54–39 heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth, Life U stayed composed and locked in defensively, limiting the Skyhawks to just six points over the final 10 minutes. The Running Eagles maintained control throughout the closing stretch to secure the 63–45 conference road win.
