MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Life University NCWA turned in a strong performance Saturday at the Hawk Duals at Garrett Coliseum, competing in four duals and finishing the day with multiple team victories, including a win over a nationally ranked NAIA opponent.
Life opened the event with a decisive 42–9 victory over Schreiner University of NCAA Division III. The Running Eagles generated consistent bonus points throughout the lineup, highlighted by falls from Jaden New at 157 pounds, Diego Barron at 165, Zion Smith at 174, and Connor Cooper at 184. Gilbert Marquez added a technical fall at 197 pounds, while Devin Dudley secured a major decision at heavyweight.
The second dual saw Life earn a shutout win over Lyon College. The Running Eagles controlled the dual from start to finish, combining multiple forfeits with dominant performances on the mat. Camron Crump recorded a technical fall at 149 pounds, while Barron and Smith picked up falls to maintain momentum.
Life continued its day with another team victory against Montreat College. Falls were recorded by Ethan Sellers at 141, Jaden New at 157, Zion Smith at 165, Diego Barron at 174, Connor Cooper at 197, and Ryan Krimpelbein at 285. Adrian Morales added a technical fall at 133, and Gilbert Marquez contributed a major decision at 184.
The day concluded with a matchup against No. 22 nationally ranked Lindsey Wilson College of the NAIA. Life secured the team victory behind key wins from Adrian Morales at 133, Ethan Sellers at 141 by fall, Camron Crump at 149, Jaden New at 157 by major decision, Enrique Santana at 165 in sudden victory, and Diego Barron at 174 with a first-period fall.
Life University NCWA finished the Hawk Duals with a complete team effort against Division III and NAIA opponents as the team continues its winter competition schedule.
