Men's Lacrosse Opens 2026 Season with Win Over Lawrence Tech

MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life University men's lacrosse team opened the 2026 season with a home win over the Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech. Both squads have received national votes in the latest NAIA Men's Lacrosse poll.

The visitors kicked off the scoring on Lupo Family Field early, taking a 1-0 into the middle minutes of the first period. The Life U offense responded with an unassisted strike from Eric Manfredonia before Manfredonia connected with Evan Sengstock to put the Running Eagles up 2-1. The Blue Devils found the back of the net near the end of the first once more, sending the game to the second period at 2-2.

In the second, Life U took over. Opening the period with five-straight goals, the Running Eagles jumped out to a 7-2 lead before Lawrence Tech could respond. Though the visitors did add a pair in the frame, Life returned the favor and carried a 9-4 lead into the break. Manfredonia recorded a hat trick in the first half while Jared Cordova and Sengstock each added a pair. 

Out of the break, the Life U offense continued to stay hot, posting three unanswered goals in the first four minutes of the third. Once again, the Blue Devils responded with a pair of goals to close down the run, but three late goals in the period from Brayden Hittle, Alex McGuire and Cordava gave the Running Eagles a comfortable 14-6 lead heading into the final frame.

Closing out the final 15, Life U added one more goal while surrendering just two, finishing the contest with a 15-8 win.

--The Running Eagles opened the second period with a five-goal run to take a commanding 7-2 lead.
