Williamsburg, Ky. – The Life University Running Eagles women's lacrosse team battled early but ultimately fell on the road to the University of the Cumberlands, 18–5, on Saturday in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

Life U opened the game with energy and stayed within striking distance through the first quarter. After Cumberlands scored the opening two goals, Life U responded when Reese Phipps found the back of the net off an assist from Sydney Matesevac to put the Running Eagles on the board. Roxie Beasley followed shortly after with a goal to tie the game at 2–2. Hannah Leon later capitalized on a man-up opportunity with under a minute left in the quarter, trimming the deficit to 4–3 heading into the second.

The Patriots pulled away in the second quarter, scoring six-unanswered goals to build a 10–3 halftime lead. Cumberlands continued its offensive surge in the third period, extending the margin before Life U was able to answer late in the quarter. Leon recorded her second goal of the afternoon on another man-up opportunity, and Beasley added her second goal shortly after to cut the deficit to 15–5.

Cumberlands was powered offensively by Christina Carter and Lenora DeVries, who each scored four goals to lead the Patriots. The home team finished with 31 shots compared to Life U's 21 and controlled the draw circle 15–9.
