MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life University men's lacrosse team picked up a senior day win over the Skyhawks of Point early Saturday afternoon. The win moves the team back to .500 on the year and sends the senior class out on top at Lupo Family Field.

It was a slow start to the contest, with just one goal being scored in the opening frame. The lone strike belonged to the Running Eagles, with Jared Cordova finding the back of the net midway through the first. Despite the low-scoring affair, Life U racked up 19 shots in the first frame while holding the visitors to just four.

Evan Sengstock found Tristan Berry to kick off the scoring in the second as the game began to pick up. The Skyhawks answered with a pair of goals midway through the period before Berry found Eric Manfredonia to give the Running Eagles a late 3-2 lead. However, Point struck once more, leveling the score line as the teams headed into the half time break.

Out of the break, the third period belonged solely to the Running Eagles. Alex McGuire, Cordova, Manfredonia and Sengstock all recorded goals in the period. On the defensive end, Nicholas Rose, Josh Faile and Layne Boies reeked havoc on the visitors offense, forcing ample turnovers. The Skyhawks were allowed just two shots in the frame while the Life U offense added four goals, taking a 7-3 lead into the final period.

In the fourth, the midfield for Life U excelled, harassing the Point offense on every clear attempt. The visitors totaled just four shots the entire second half, only scoring once. Keegan Boschert and Christofer Tyson scored the final two goals for Life U, as the Running Eagles sent the seniors out on top with a 9-4 home win.
