MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's volleyball team picked up another conference win Wednesday night, defeating Truett McConnell in four sets inside the Upper Gym.
The Running Eagles came out sharp in the opening frame, turning in one of their most efficient sets of the night. Life U hit .455 and used a late run to pull away for a 25–16 win.
Truett McConnell answered in the second, putting together its best offensive set of the match. The Bears hit .500 and held off a late push from Life to take a tight 28–26 decision, evening things at one set apiece.
Set three proved to be the difference. In a back-and-forth battle with neither side able to create separation, Life U leaned on timely swings from Serano Keijl, Charles Ewer, and Jakub Kantorowicz late in the set. The Running Eagles closed on a strong push to take the frame 29–27 and regain control of the match.
Life left no doubt in the fourth. The Running Eagles controlled the tempo from the start and limited Truett McConnell to a negative hitting percentage in the set. With the offense rolling and the block setting the tone, Life U pulled away for a 25–15 win to secure the 3–1 victory.
