Cordova Scores Nine as Men's Lacrosse Blows Past Columbia College in Offensive Showcase

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Life University men's lacrosse team blew past the Koalas of Columbia College on Saturday afternoon in AAC action. Life U opened the contest on fire, scoring four goals in the first five minutes.

It was all Running Eagles to open the contest. Life U racked up eight unanswered goals in the first period, with six different players striking in the period. The defense also had an elite first period, holding the home standing Koalas to just one shot in the frame.

Columbia finally got on the board midway through the second period but were constantly answered by the Running Eagles. Following two second-period goals from Jared Cordova, the Texas native led the team in scoring at the half time break with a hat trick. 

Coming out of the break with an 11-2 lead, Life U went right back to pouring it on. Cordova added a third-period hat trick while Erik Fornek and Alex McGuire hammered away on frame. The defense once again had a flawless 15 minutes, allowing zero goals on just five shots.

Dominating the second half, Cordova added three more to make it nine on the day while the Life U offense as a whole scored nine goals in the final frame. The Running Eagles leave Columbia, S.C. with a 24-3, statement win.
