MARIETTA, Ga. --- Life University Deputy Athletic Director Jesse Roberts announced Jessica Sharpe will serve as the department's new Assistant Athletic Director of External Operations. 

Sharpe's journey began at Life University two years ago assisting the Assistant AD of Internal Operations, Alaina Smith Walker, with academic success and eligibility for the department's student athletes. In the new role, Sharpe will be responsible for all day-to-day facility scheduling, facility rentals, oversight of sponsorship development, community engagement and assist in game-day operations. Additionally, Sharpe will continue to assist Walker with eligibility and academic success.   

A recent graduate of Life University, Sharpe earned her Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration this Fall. Prior to her time at Life University, Sharpe earned an Associates of Applied Sciences in Business Management from Midlands Technical College. 

Deputy Athletic Director Jesse Roberts expanded on his confidence in Sharpe, stating, "I've been really impressed with Jess's quality of work in her time here. Her attention to detail, as well as the relationships she's already built with our student athletes and staff, will be extremely valuable in her new position. I'm really looking forward to watching her grow into this new leadership role."

Sharpe expressed her appreciation and excitement for the opportunity, stating, "I am extremely excited to take this opportunity to serve as the Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations and to continue my journey here at Life University. Working alongside all the wonderful people in the department the last two years has brought me great joy and it has been such an amazing experience. I am grateful to be able to continue to do so and look forward to this next chapter in my career." 

Sharpe resides in Marietta with her husband, Tyler Mitchell.
