Men's & Women's Swimming Competes at 2025 NAIA Swimming & Diving Championships

ELKHART, Ind. - The Life University men's and women's swim team traveled its six qualifying athletes to compete at the 2025 NAIA Swimming & Diving Championships. The four-day meet was highlighted by the men's relay team of Brody Williams, Bence Dort, Bence Meresz and Mate Dort earned All-American status two times, first in the 200 free relay and then in the 400 medley relay.

The group turned in a combined 1:25.35 in the 200 free relay, earning a seventh place finish. The race was extremely close for the middle of the pack, with just .88 seconds separating fifth, sixth and seventh place. The group then followed up with an eighth place finish later in the meet, narrowly outpacing the ninth place squad in the 400 medley relay to earn their second All-American finish (3:24.18).

 
Kendall Ashburn placed 17th in the women's 200 fly, swimming a 2:13.20. She also placed 34th in the women's 200 IM (2:14.22) and 30th in the women's 400 IM (4:48.80). 

Bence Dort narrowly missed the men's 200 backstroke finals, placing ninth. His time of 1:48.71 was just .04 seconds behind eighth place. He also went on to place 18th in the men's 100m back, turning in a time of 50.35.  

Brody Williams turned in a quality performance in the men's 200 free, swimming a 1:41.64. Though he was 11 spots away from the finals, his time was just over two seconds away from making the final heat. He also placed 34th in the men's 50 free (21.38) and 32nd in the men's 100 free (47.14).


 
Nikita Snoeren narrowly missed the finals in the women's 100 back, finishing in 14th place. Her time of 58.63 was just 1.13 seconds short of her qualifying for the final heat. She also placed 35th in the women's 50 free (25.00) and placed 27th in the women's 100 free (54.16).

Bence Meresz narrowly missed the finals in the men's 100 breaststroke, placing ninth in the prelims. His time of 55.72 was just .08 seconds short of qualifying for the final heat. He also narrowly missed the finals of the men's 50 free, swimming a 20.55 for 12th place. In the men's 100 back, Meresz placed 28th (53.14).

Mate Dort placed 39th in the men's 500 free, swimming a time of 4:45.17.

This marks the end of the 2024-2025 season for the team.
